  • Vacumm Tube

This is when Edison first discovered that a current can travel though a vaccum. This was originally discovered in 1883. Vaccum Tubes aren't as useful as transisters, but they're still used for high wattage amplification such as TV transmitters, FM transmitters and RADAR installations. It unlike Transisters, have to warm up. It also is used for swiching and amplification.
  • ENIAC

Computer used during WW II. It was made of vaccum tubes. Army used to calculate artillary trigecteries
  • Transister

We can now make billions of them. A transister is a semiconducter and can either do amplification and swiching.
  • ForTran

FORmula TRANslation, is the oldest language still in use. It was created to perform high-level scientific, mathmatical, and statistical computations.
  • COBOL
