  • Abraham Lincoln

    Abraham Lincoln
    He issued the Emancipation Proclamation which helped stop slavery. He also helped make the Thirteenth Amendment. He was assassimated.
  • Ulyssess S. Grant

    Ulyssess S. Grant
    He helped pass the 15th Admendement allowing African Americans. He also helped with adminstering Reconstruction, he enforced a laws and fighting towards the KKK. His reputation was ruined becuase of his personal secretary.
  • Rutherford B. Hayes

    Rutherford B. Hayes
    During his time in office he came up with the Compromise of 1877 ending the military positoned in the South. The Bland-Allison Act was passed in 1878 made goverment buy more silver to make more and more coins. He also helped with the production of the soon later know as Panama Canal.
  • James A. Garfield

    James A. Garfield
    He dealt with whether mail was being fraudulantly awarded. He solved the case and it was called The Start Route Scandal becuase it involved the Reublican Party. Charles J. Guiteau a officer, shot Garfield July 2, 1881.
  • Chester A. Arthur

    Chester A. Arthur
    He helped with The Mongrel Tariff of 1883 that reduced tarriffs. He also helped with the Pendleton Act which civil service gained more support because of President Garfield's assassination. He signed the Chinese Exclusion Act which stopped or paused immigration for at least 10 years.

    Grover Cleveland
    He created Presidential Succession Act passed in 1886 stating if a president and vice president died the next in line is someone from the cabinet. During his time of presidency the Pullman Strike occurred, which dealt with Pullman Car Company workers went on strike and Grover orfered troops to arrest and end the strike. He also withdrawled thea treaty that was on Hawii.

    Benjamin Harrison
    He passed the Sherman Silver Act which dealt with purchasing silvcer with some silver certificates. He passed the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, which bacme the first steps toward monoplies that had taken advatage over the public. He signed Dependdent and Disability Pensions Act, which gave money to veterans and those who were disabled by nonmilitary incidents.
  • William McKinley

    William McKinley
    One of McKinley's last acts he did while in office was the Gold Standard Act, which said gold was an offical standard. He was in office when war awas declared against Spain which lead to the U.S possessing the Phillippines. In New York on September 6, he was shot by Leon Czolgosz and then later died on the 14th.
  • William Howard Taft

    William Howard Taft
    He helpled brign down Standard Oil Company. During his presidency he passed the Payne-Aldrich Tariff Act lowered tariff rates by 5%. While he was in office the U.S was allowed to collect income taxes due to the 16th Amendments.
  • Woodrow Wilson

    Woodrow Wilson
    Tariffs were reduced from 41% to 21% becuase of the Underwood Tariff. Wilson passed the Federal Reserve Act which helped the Federal Reserve system which gave banks loans. Then in 1914 he gave labor more rights with the Clayton Anti-Trust Act.
