    The United States sent out airplanes to attack the Iraqi radar sites. They attackd the radar sites in efforts to enfoce a No Fly Zone.
    Bush officialy called this mission just a regular routine mission.

    This event was caused because of terrorist hijacking four of our United States jetliner. Two of the planes hit the world trade center. 50 minutes after the second tower was hit it collapsed. With the twin towers collapsing it caught surrounding buildings on fire. Even the World trade center buildings 4-7.The World trade center 7 was on fire for 7hours without getting checked. a few hours before the building collapsed there was an anonymous phone call from the government to evacuate the building.

    Former president Jimmy Carter traveled to Cuba for a tour and visit with Cuba's President Fidel Castro. He was the first United States President that went there in 40 years. May 20,2002 President Bush announces that the forty year old trade embargo against Cuba will continue untl the agreements of free and fair elections are met.     Space Shuttle Columbia Self-destructs
    Columbia was on its 28th missions when it successful missions ended. The causes of the self-destruct seemed innocent. A piece of insulation foam that detached from the external fuel tank during launch and hit the left wing. The wing was incapable of handleing intese temperatures as superheated gases entered and destroyed the wing structure which reasulted in the rest of the shuttle to break apart causing the self-destructing.

    Iraq has not complied with inspections and with them not complying with inspections resulted in the United States launching a successful invasion of Iraq. Promising to destroy Iraqi (WMD)-Weapons of Mass Destruction. Saddam was captured, tried, and hanged. The United States quickly defeated the Iraqi military. The Iraqi capital, Baghdad fell on April 9, 2003.

    Within three weeks from March 20th, 2003 United States forces secured Bahdad and realized that Saddam Hussein has escaped the capital city. A hunt for Saddam Hussein has begin. Months go by with now luck of finding him. December 13, 2003 Ibrahim Al-Muslit was caputred and revealed that Hussein was in hiding on a farm in Ad Dawr, south of Tikrit.

    Hurricane Katrina hit between Grand Isle, Louisiana and the mouth of the Mississippi River around 6 am, as a Category 3 storm with winds up to 127 mph. There was 1,833 death either directly caused by Katrina or indirectly caused.

    John Roberts was nominated to become Chief Justice by President George W. Bush. He took over of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. He started off as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

    Saddam Hussein was charged with torture, premeditated murder, forced deportation, imprisonment and the deprivation of physical movement. May 15, 2006 Judge Raouf Abdel-Rahman charged Hussein and other defendants with crimes against humanity. After Judge Abdullah al-Amiri was removed from the case, Judge Mohammad Orabi Majeed Al-Khalefa took over and sentenced Saddam Hussien to death on November 5. 2006.

    Happend in the Congressional elections. The Democratic party took control for the first time since 1994. Nancy Pelosi became the first speaker of the house in nations history.

    Former President G. Ford dies
    President Gerald R. Ford led the US out of the Watergate era and ended up losing his own bid for election. He died in his home in Rancho Mirage, California. He was 93 years old when he died. Ford became the longest-living United States President in history passing Reagen by 45 days.
  • New Troops in Iraq

    In 2007 Bush announces a Dramatic shift in the United States Strategy. He also anouces he has a deployment of 30,000 additional troops heading to Iraq. They are supposed to help the troops already in Baghdad.
