    Heart is one of the earliest organs to start functioning

  • Month 3

    Baby begins to hear

  • Month 6

    Fats deposits are formed in the brain

  • Month 7 & 8

    Baby continues to grow a lot

  • Week 3

    Blastocyst attaches to the lining of the uterus

  • Week 6

    Heart is beating; organs are developing

  • Week 9

    Baby is 1" inch long; arms, hands, feet, legs, and eyes are developed. Starts moving.

  • Week 10

    Vital organs have formed. Birth defects are unlikely to develop after this week.

  • Week 14

    Can tell if the fetus is a boy or girl

  • Week 18

    Can begin to feel the baby's movements

  • Week 21

    Fetus can hear sounds

    Fetus develops baby fat

    Baby's eyes are beginning to open; can see
