    --Mother-- -Breasts being to swell,
    -Presure on bladder from enlarging uterus results in need to urinate more frequently.
    -Possible nausea ( morning sickness )
    -Fatigue is common.
    --Baby--
    -Size is about 1/4 inch.
    -Face, ears, eyes, and limbs take shape.
    -Bones being to form.
  • -Month 3, Mother and Baby.

    -Month 3, Mother and Baby.
    --Mother-- -Breasts become firmer and fuller, may ache.
    -Nausea, fatigue, and frequent urination may continue.
    -Adomen becomes slightly larger. The uterus is about the size of an orange.
    -Weight gaining.
    --Baby--
    -Size about 1 inch.
    -Nostrils, mouth, lips, teeth buds, and eyelids form.
    -Fingers and toes almost complete.
    -All organs present, although immature.

    --Mother-- -Adomen continues to grow.
    -Most discomforts of early pregnancy, such as morning sickness, usually gone.
    -Appetite increases.

    -Size about 3 inches, 1 ounce.
    -Can suck on it's thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move around.
    -Facial features become clearer.

    -Month 5, Mother and Baby.
    --Mother-- -Enlarged abdomen becomes apparent.
    -Slight fetal movements felt.
    -Increased size may begin to affect posture.
    --Baby--
    -Size about 6.1/2 - 7 inches long, 4-5 onces.
    -Hair eyelashes, and eyebrows appear.
    -Teeth continue to develope.
    -Organs are matureing.
    -Becomes more active.

    --Mother-- -Fetal movments sensed as strong kicks, thumps, and bumps. Some may be visable.
    -Weight gain about 10-12 pounds.
    --Baby--
    -Size about 8-10 inches long, about 8-12 ounces.
    -Fat depostits under the skin, but fetus appears wrinkled.
    -Breathing movements begin.

    --Mother-- -Increased size may affect posture.
    --Baby--
    -Size about 10-12 inches long, about 1.1/2 - 2 pounds.
    -Periods of activitly followed by periods of rest and quiet.

    --Mother-- -Discomfort may result from increased size. Backache, leg cramps, shortness of breath, and fatigue are common.
    -Fetal kicks may disturb the mother rest.
    -At the beginning of this month, weight gain totals about 18-20 pounds.
    --Baby--
    -Size about 14-16 inches long, about 2.1/2 - 3 pounds.
    -Weight gain continues rapidly.
    -May react to loud noises with a reflex jerking action.
    -Moves into a head-down postion

    --Mother-- -"Lightning" felt as the fetus drops into the pelvis. Breathing becomes easier.
    -Other discomforts may continue.
    -A total weight gain of 25-35 pounds is typical.
    -False labor pains may be experienced.

    -Size about 17-18 inches long, 5-6 pounds.
    -Weight gain continues untill the week before born.
    -Skin becomes smooth as fat deposits continue.
