President John F. Kennedy is elected president. He would later become a key figure in assisting the Civil Rights movement in reforming society in the United States. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
This was one of the first things Kennedy did at the beginning of his term and it turned out to be a massive failure. The Bay of Pigs proved to be a strange event for America as it had faced nothing but victory in terms of war for the past twenty or so years. -
The Cold War Ends
Mass hysteria and panic is no longer a major theme in the U.S. and people start to embrace a more peaceful living experience without fear.
