  • Revenge is bitter

    Revenge is bitter
There was a youngman who would bother the sick & curse them daily. He would bully them & jsay nasty things instead of helping or ignoring them. The way this was resolved was he himself was given disease & died in an desperate manner. “But it pleased God before they came half seas over, to smite this young man with a grievous disease, of which he died in a desperate manner, and so was himself the first that was thrown overboard.." Bradford saw this as God was avenging the poor for their suffering
  • Man in Sea

    Man in Sea
While the storms was going on a man named John Howland, was thrown overboard. He luckily had a grip on ropes for raising the sail & was hauled back up onto the ship. “And in one of them, as they thus lay at hull in a mighty storm, a lusty young man called John Howland, coming upon some occasion above the gratings was, with a seele of the ship, thrown into sea; but it pleased God that he caught hold of the topsail halyards which hung overboard and ran out at length” The moral is God favors them.
  • Troubles at Sea

    Troubles at Sea
The ship has suffered many storms, but one storm almost put their voyage and the passangers in danger. The fierce storm had rocked and shook the ship, the worse is when it one of the ship mains cracked. Without it they would of had to turn back, but luckily one of the passangers had great iron screws on them that helped fix the main and keep it rised. We learnt here was that if people work together to solve problems it can be done.
  • Helping the ill

    Helping the ill
Months have passed and half the passangers from the mayflower have died. The rest carried disease or illness from the conditions on the voyage. Six or seven people were fortuned enough to be healthy & took care of the ill instead of leaving to healthier places. The moral of this is god has chosen these specific people to take care of the sick. “And yet the Lord so upheld these persons as in this general calamity they were not at all infected either with sickness or lameness”
  • Survival Help

    Survival Help
Surviving in the new land wasn't an easy task. They weren't familiar with the land, animals, & how to plant their crops. It was completely unknown to them. When the Indians introduce themselves one named Squanto, offer help to their problems surviving. “.But Squanto continued with them and was their interpreter and was a special instrument sent of God for their good beyond their expectation.." He showed them how to plant crops and such. Bradford moral to this is God will send help when in need
