Pierpoint was born in Bondu, Senegambia,West Africa where there were rivers surrounded by land and steaming marshes and grassy plains. He was a Fulani, of the dominant tribe of the Bondu State and was Moslem which meant he knew how to raed and write. I chose this image because it shows the place where he was born (Bondu),
  • Captured in slavery.

    Captured in slavery.
When Pierpoint was an average grade eleven student he was captured with his hands behind his back, and his neck was roped to other men, women and children. He was also chained to other men on the boat and was to lie hip to hip, shoulder to shoulder on the shelves in the dark. I selected this image because it shows the middle passage journey and how people were on shelves stacked inches above them.

Pierpoint in sight after 20 years!
Richard Pierpoint came back to Fort Niagara when he earned all his freedom by enrolling to fight the Americans for King George. It was the same king whose hired slave company had bought, branded and sold him. I chose this image because it represents, Pierpoint who was called Captain Dick also called Pawpine who was a member of the Butler’s Rangers and was part of the British army.

    The American Revolutionary War.
In the twenty years the American revolutionary War was still going on when Pierpoint came to Fort Niagra. So he fought the Americans with the Butler's Rangers to carry the cruel campaign from the hudson to Kentucky Rivers to interfere the routes of the Continential Army. I chose this image because on the map it shows the place where they fought.
  • The veteran

    The veteran
After Pawpine disappeared he was working as a labourer or farmhand because he was granted a field, a 200-acre parcel of land on a Twelve Mile Creek, near St.Catherines, Ontario. He worked for three years to harvest the trees, clear the land after it's harvest and to build a house. I selected this image because it represents how land would look like before it was cleared.
  • Invading Canada

    Invading Canada
When the Americans got mad at Canada and tried taking their land, Pawpine came back at the age of sixty-eight and offered to raise a corps of color but was refused. But when the British captain agreed and he let him fight but said he couldn't lead because it was a stupid war that was fought and alot of people were killed. I chose this image because it shows some of the people that died in the war of 1812.
  • Winning the last battle.

    Winning the last battle.
In 1815 the Americans won their last battle and after two weeks the war was ended. Most of the wars they fought were in Canada. I chose this image because it shows how the Americans won the war and are leaving happily with tears of joy.
  • The death of Pawpine.

    The death of Pawpine.
Before Pawpine died, he used to sit in his cabin that he built eleven years ago in Canada which took him four years to clear up and looked the frozen grey river and the piles of snow. Later, he went to North America alone and died alone when he was more than ninety years old, I chose this image because it shows the continent of where he died.
