Got my first boombox - was able to play tapes and CDs. Used to make mixtapes by recording onto cassettes from the radio.

Got a desktop with dial-up internet. Was only allowed 30 mins at a time which was a real challenge for the MSN Messenger social life

Spent the better part of a few years talking on MSN. Downloaded an app that let me hide it from my parents using some key codes. They never figured me out!

Anti-skip technology (which is a lie!) discman, with AM/FM radio (ooooo!). Had a handle so I could run with it.

Finally upgraded to DSL so I could spend all the time I wanted on the computer without blocking up the home phone

Plays CDs and cassettes but also had an Aux cable spot, remote and speakers separate from the actual stereo part. I still have it to this day and it works very well!

Got my first iPod - original iPod, blue, black and grey screen

First cell phone: 28$ a month, no internet access (unless you want to pay per MB), red samsung phone. It was fancy because it had a colour screen.
