Perseus

  • King Acrisius goes to Delphi

King A goes to Delphi to ask if he'll ever have a son. The Delphi says no, but his future grandson will kill him.
This shows how much gender plays a part in ancient Greece because he wanted a son more than anything to carry on his name.
  • King A locks Danae away

King A locked Danae in a bronze room that she couldn't escape from because he isn't allowed to kill Danae or his future grandson for selfish reasons.
  • Danae's pregnant?

Zeus comes into the bronze room in a different form and impregnates Danae without her consent. Shows how females didn't get much say in choices.
  • King A finds out.

King A, afraid to be killed, locked Danae and Perseus inside a chest and throws them out to the sea. He needed a way to get around not being able to kill his kin, so he chose to let the sea kill them for him.
It's not very hard to get around the rules of not being able to kill someone.
  • Danae and Perseus survive

The chest they were in got washed up onto the shore, where they were found by Dictys. Dictys brought them in to live with his wife and treated them as their own.
  • Polydectes arrives

Polydecte saw Danae, the most beautiful of the land, and decided he wants to marry her, but wants nothing to do with Perseus, so he had to think of a plan to get rid of him.
  • Polydectes plan

To make up for Perseus not bringing a gift of Polydectes, Polydectes suggests that Perseus should bring him the head of Medusa instead. Polydectes knew that Perseus wouldn't be able to survive killing Medusa and it was the perfect plan to get rid of Perseus.
  • Perseus' helpers

On his way to find Medusa, Hermes appeared as a guide for him to tell him how to reach Medusa. First going to the Gray Women, then to the Nymphs of the North.
Athena came to help too and gave him a mirror so he was able to look at Medusa without turning to stone.
  • Perseus, Hermes, and the Gray Women

Hermes and Perseus went to the Gray Women where Perseus had to steal their eye, demand they give him direcions to the nymphs of the north, and then gave their eye back.
When Hermes and Perseus made it to the nymphs of the north, they gave Perseus a wallet that would comform to whatever size he needed, winged sandals, and a cap that would make him invisible when slaying Medusa.
  • Perseus' wife

On his way home, he saw Andromeda and knew right away that he wanted to marry her. He asked her father for her hand then took her back home with him.
  • On to the Gorgons

When Perseus, Hermes, and Athena made it to the Gorgons, they were all asleep, which made it easy for Perseus to kill Medusa and take her head without getting caught.
  • Where is everyone?

When Perseus got back home with Andromeda, no one was there anymore. Dictys' wife had died, and Dictys and Danae left after she told Polydectes she wouldn't marry him.
When he found Dictys and Danae, Perseus made Dictys King of the Island.
  • Everyone dies.

Perseus went to find Polydectes to return Medusa's head. When he found him, the head turned Polydectes and everyone with him to stone.
Later on, Perseus went to an athletic contest that was held and competed in a discus-throwing contest. His discus went off course and hit King A, killing him instantly.
The Delphi was completely correct, no matter what King A did to try to change it.
Can't change what destiny already has planned out.
