Irresponsible and Reckless
Percy is irresponsible and reckless in the beginning of the text. He attends a school called Yancy Academy, which is a school for troubled children. He is 12 years old and has already been expelled from several schools. In the beginning of the text, he mentions how he always seems to get into trouble on field trips. He explains, "I had this accident with a Revolutionary war cannon. I wasn't aiming for the school bus, but of course I got expelled anyway." (Riordan 3).
