Pau Casals was born on 29th of december 1876 in el Vendrell, Tarragona. His parents were Carles Casals and Pilar de Filló.

Pau Casals, in 1883, composed his first score,in a representation of the "pastorets" .

He enrolled in the "escola municipal de música de Barcelona". At this school he studies de cello .Then he started playing the cello in a bar in Barcelona, Barcelona Café Tost . He worked every day of the week, three hours each night , and paid him for four pesetas.

In 1897, Pau Casals began teaching cello at the Concervatori del Liceu.

In 1899, Pau Casals stayed in Paris, in the house of the american singer Emma Nevada.

In 1919, Pau Casals returned to Barcelona, and he created the Orquestra Pau Casals.

In 1936, he was exiled in Paris, because Franco's troops entry in Barcelona, and 4 years later he went to USA because started the Second War World

Pau Casals' speech. In 1958, he was a candidate to the Peace Nobel. He did a speech in he UN.

In 1963, he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a medal delivered from the President of USA. Kennedy.

In 1973, he died in Puerto Rico. Then, he won the Medalla d'Or de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
