Picasso was the first son of José Ruiz Blasco and María Picasso López, but after him they had two daughters. They belonged to the bourgeois class.

Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born on 25 October 1881 in Málaga, Spain.

Pablo was admitted as a student and studied for two years at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. But he also studied at the School of Art and Design Superior Pablo Picasso (EASD) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.

In 1895 he made his first major academic canvas, "La primera comunión." In 1897 he presented the canvas "Ciencia y caridad" at the General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid. During the summer of that same year he spent his holidays in Málaga, where he painted landscapes and bullfights. His outstanding works are: "Guernica", "Las señoritas de Avignon", "Ciencia y caridad", "Garçon à la pipe" and "Masacre en Corea".

He was a spanish painter, draughtsman and sculptor. He is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and worked in.

Picasso died on 8 April 1973 (aged 91) in Mougins, France.
