    He began contributing journals to "Selva Austral" under the pen name "Pablo Neruda" due to his families disapproval of his literary career. He got this name from a Czechoslovak poet, Jan Neruda, to whom he very much admired.

    "Veinte Poemas de Amor y Un Canción Desperada", one of Pablo's most famous works, was published by Nascimiento Editors. The publication was a huge success. His inspiration for this book was a girl named Rosa Albertina Azocar.
