April 28, 1908 was the day Oskar Schindler was born in Svitavy (Zwittau), Moravia.

In 1928, after he attended a few trade schools, he got married to his wife Emilie Pelzl.

In 1936, he started working for the German Armed forces, specifically the Office of the Military Foregin Intellegence.

He opened up factories that made ammunition, although only one of the factories employed Jews. In 1944 when the factory peaked it had more that 1,700 Jews working in it. He rescued all these Jews from concentration camps and brought them to his factories to work, but they were in better conditions then they were at camps.

One night in March 1943 Schindler let all of his Jewish workers stay overnight in the factory. This was the night of the Krakow ghetto liquidation.

On May 9, 1945 Schindler and his wife left Germany. This was the same day that the soviets liberated the camp.

After stay in Regenseburg, Germany for some time they left in 1949 and immigrated to Argentina.

Schindler and Emilie did not get a divorce but they were permanently separated. This happened sometime in the year of 1957

Yad Vashmen gave Schindler the "Righteous Among the Nations" award for how he helped the Jews and everything he risked to save them.

Schindlers death was almost unknown and he died poor.
