Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin, in 1854. His mother was a writer and his father was a surgeon. He had a peaceful and happy childhood.

Thanks to a scholarship, on this year, he joined the Magdalene College, in Oxford. Four years later, in 1878, he won the "Oxford Newdigate Prize" for his poem Ravenna.

At his 27 years old, he reunited, expanded and revised his poetic works. And published his first book. In general terms, the book was well recieved by the public.

He get married with Constance Lloyd, with whom had two sons. They meet each other during a Constance's travel to Dublin.

Wilde entered prison on 25 May 1895, and was released two years later. He was arrested for charges of sodomy and gross indecency. Because of that, his marriage ended, and he lost his parental authority.

Wilde died of meningitis in Paris, poor and alone. He was bury in Père Lachaise Cemetery. In 2011 the tomb was cleaned of the many lipstick marks left there by admirers.
