  • The 15th Amendment

    The fifteenth amendment prohibits all governments of America from denying a citizen there right to vote based on their color or race. The fifteenth amendment was a reconstruction amendment.Many felt that giving colored folk the right to vote was unconstitutional and that citizens should be the only persons aloud to vote.
  • The completion of the Panama Canal

    The panama canal is extremely old, dating back to some of the earliest explorers of north america. this was a land bridge that aloowed for trade from North and South America.The Panama canal is still used today-allowing for the trade of goods from south to north.
  • Assassination of Franz Ferdinand

    The assasination of the Austrian ruler who was shot along with his wife. The ones responsible for the assasination were Serbian.
  • U.S. entry into WWI

    World war one ended in the year 1918.This war involved all the major powers of the earth-Germany,America, and italy. World war one was one of the largest wars in history. During this time russia was still communist.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    A peace treaty Signed stating that Germany would be at peace with the allied powers.This treaty took place at the end of World War Two.It took six months before the treaty was finalized.
  • The 19th Amendment

    The 19th Anendement prohibits a person from being denied the right to vote based on their sex.The amendment was first introduced in 1878 but took 41 years to finally get passed. A legistlator said"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex".
    Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

    The invasion of Poland was an action that jump started the second world war.The invasion ended,1939, with Germany and the Soviet Union splitting and annexing all of Poland.this event would lead into the events of the Holocaust-when millions died at the hand of war.
  • Japan bombs Pearl Harbor

    Japan bombed a U.S naval base from the skies. The base was attacked by 353 planes from the heavens. This ocuerrence lead to America's entry into World War Two.
  • Executive order 9066

    United States Executive Order 9066 was a United States presidential executive order signed and issued during World War II by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 19, 1942 authorizing the Secretary of War to prescribe certain areas as military zones. Eventually, EO 9066 cleared the way for the relocation of Japanese Americans to internment camps.
  • U.S. drops first Atomic bomb in Japan

    The first Bomb dropped on japan in Hiroshima that would eventually lead to the complete end of world war two. Shortly after this bombing there would be another bomb dropped.The force of these bombs was unprecadented up until that point.
  • U.S. drops second Atomic bomb in Japan

    This was the second dropped on japan in the city of Nagasaki.This bomb was equal in force to the first,making it just as deadly. Japan fianlly surrenderd after the second bombing.World war two had ceased.
  • First U.S. military advisors were sent into Vietnam

    September 1950, US President Harry Truman sent the Military Assistance Advisory Group to Vietnam to help the French in the First Indochina War.The president claimed that the squad sent in weren't combat troop, but where sent in to advise the use of ten million dollars worth of weapons from America.By 1953, aid increased to $350 million to replace old military equipment owned by the French.

  • John F. Kennedy assassinated

    John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated at 12:30 p.m. on a friday, November 22.
    Many beleive that Lee Harvey Oswald was the individual who assasinated kennedy. 80 percent of the American population beleive the assasination to be a conspiracy, or inside job.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. assassinated

    Martin Luther King jr. was the youngest person to receive a nobel prize. Martin was assasinated April 4 1968. Martin was a reverend before becoming a speaker to all the public.Martin Luther King was mudered at loraine motel by a bullet to his head.
  • Vietnam War ends

    The 19 year long war was finally over.
  • U.S. supports Afghanistan from invasion of the Soviet Union (U.S.S.R)

    The Soviet war in Afghanistan was a nine-year proxy war during the Cold war involving the Soviet Union supporting the Marxist-Leninist government of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan against the Afghan Mujahideen guerrilla movement and foreign "Arab–Afghan" volunteers. The mujahideen received unofficial military and finacial aid from a multitude of countries including the United States, Saudi Arabia,Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Israel, Indonesia and China.
  • U.N. declares victory in the Persian Gulf War

    America had finally ended the conflict in the iraq war. With the combined efforts of several nations in the coalition America was enabled to succeed in the first gulf war due to the exrta help from other nations.nearly 30 million us dollars where spent on behalf of the war.
  • U.N. resolution 678

    This was a document sent to iraq asking for the removal of presence of iraq in Kuwait.This was the leagal authorisation for the gulf war.This war would now last over ten years. Iraq refused the proposal.
  • First combat troops sent to Vietnam

    President Truman sent troops to support ant-communist resistnace.The first American soldier to die was riding in a jeep when a vietnamese soldier mistook him for a french man.
