    Bully on the Ship
Bradford states that several people on the ship were sick. These people were being harassed by a certain crew member. That certain crew member eventually caught the sickness and died. Bradford believes that it was god who looked out for them and struck the man with sickness. "Thus his curses light on his own head, and it was an
astonishment to all his fellows for they noted it to be the just hand of god upon him."(Bradford 29)
  • Leaky Ship

    Leaky Ship
At this time in the voyage the weather started to get worse. They met with fierce storms and the ship was getting beat up. One of the main beams got cracked and it became a problem. They found a great iron screw to fix the beam. They believed god would help them. "So they committed themselves to the will of God and resolved to proceed."(Bradford 30)
  • Disease

    Disease
Disease was a problem for the crew members. They had to battle Scurvy and other diseases. Sometimes 2 or 3 crew members a day would die. This put more of the workload on the people that were not sick. "Without any grudging in the least, showing herein their true love unto their friends and brethren." (Bradford 31)
  • Bickering Crew Members

    Bickering Crew Members
Some crew members were getting frusterated on how the voyage was going. So many people were sick and there was still so much work to do. On man cursed at his wife saying if it wasnt for her, he wouldnt have gone on the voyage. One member lied he was sick so he could get taken care of. "But we let one another lie and die like dogs." (Bradford 32)
