George and Lennie Run out of the town
In the town Weed, Lennie grabs onto a girl's dress and won't let go. She gets scared and accuses him of raping her. A group of men gather to lynch Lennie for the accusations. George and Lennie have to hide in an ditch while the men search for them. Then they run out of town as soon as they can. -
George and Lennie Settled down by a river
George and Lennie camp by a river before going to the ranch. While there, Lennie hides a dead mouse from George that he killed from petting too hard. George forces him to hand the dead mouse over. The fact that he liked petting the mouse, but accidentally killed it while doing so, showed that he's just a big softy who doesn't know his own strength. It serves as foreshadowing for what happens later with Curley's wife. -
George and Lennie got to the ranch for the interview
The next day they go to the ranch in the morning and George makes sure that Lennie dosent talk while talking to the owner if the ranch so it dosent screw up there chances of getting the job. -
Conversation between George and Slim
George and Lennie come back from, bucking up barely. George that day ends up telling slim about what happened in Weed. Slims girl dog is having puppys and that means Lennie will be getting one since George has promised him. -
Carlson shot Candy's dog in the head
Carlson shooting Candy's dog showed how cruel the people there were. I also think Candy regretting that he didn't kill the dog himself foreshadows the death of Lennie. George later realizes he has to kill Lennie himself before the others on the farm do. -
Lennie and George start planning to buy a farm and live off the land. Candy overhears them and gets in on the deal.
George seemed to be idealizing his life with Lennie here. Maybe he thought that as long as they have their own place, they won't have to deal with constantly being nomads because of Lennie's behavior. It's an unrealistic dream of an easy lifestyle, ultimately. -
Lennie fought with Curley and broke his hand
Curley decided to go beat up Lennie because curley thinks he is so tuff, and so George lets Lennie get beat till he tells him to" get him" so Lennie breaks curley every bone in his hand. Slim tells Curley too say that he got his hand caught in a machine or they will tell what he did to Lennie -
Lennie went into Crooks room and then Candy
All the rest of the men went into town but candy and of the men went to town to go to the doctor with Curley, but only two people stayed and that was lennie and George. So Lennie went to go see Crooks because he had alight in his room. -
Lennie accidentally killed the puppy and later did the same to Curley's wife
Everyone went outside to go play a horshoe tournament. While Lennie stayed in so he could be with his puppy in the barn.Then Lennie had killed the puppy so he was trying to figure out what to do with it before Curley's wife showed up. Lennie was very nervous because of what happened so after he confused his love for soft things to her, she let him pet her hair but when she wanted him to stop he ended up breaking her neck and killing her by accident. -
George found Lennie near by the river and killed him
When Candy had found Curleys wife in the barn and not moving the first person he thought tell was George because he had had a feeling that Lennie would've of done it. George immediatly tells candy to tell the group like it was his first time seeing her died so that exactly what he did. When curley found this out he went to go grab his shot gun to go kill George. George took carlson and went to go kill Lennie himself because he wanted him to die thinking about tending his rabbits. -
Lennie's imaginations while he ran away after he killed Curley's wife
Lennie realizes he did a bad thing again and leaves to hide in the brush like George told him to if he does a bad thing again. While hiding, he hallucinates his Aunt Clara and a giant rabbit scolding him in his own voice.
