Creon decides to exile Oedipus, his own wish, to rid the land of the corruption.

Oedipus begs Creon to let him hug his daughters one more time. Creon grants this wish and Oedipus tells his daughters that his wrongdoing will carry onto them, and they may not find husbands.

After finding Jocasta hanging, he takes her down, takes pins from her clothes, and gouges his eyes out.

Jocasta, after finding out the full truth, hangs herself and dies.

The shepherd finally admits that Jocasta was the one who gave Oedipus to him, to kill. This is when Oedipus puts all the pieces together, and realizes the full truth; he is the son of Laius and Jocasta, he killed Laius, and the original prophecy came true.

Oedipus sends his guards to twist the shepherds arms back until he answers the questions.

When the shepherd enters the room, and is asked if he remembers the messenger, he pretends that his memory is bad and says he doesn't know.

Jocasta begs Oedipus to stop investigating, because she has figured out the truth. When Oedipus insists he get the shepherd, she storms out of the room.

The messenger tells Oedipus that he is not actually related to Polybus. The messenger reveals that he got baby Oedipus from another shepherd on mount Cithaeron.

A messenger comes out of nowhere and tells Oedipus that his father, king Polybus, is dead. He also tells him that the people of Corinth want Oedipus to be their new king.

When Jocasta tells the story of how king Laius was killed, Oedipus begins to put the pieces together and starts to think he may be the killer of Laius.

Joscasta enters the building and tells Oedipus and Creon to stop arguing, and tells Oedipus not to banish or kill Creon.

While arguing with Tiresias, Oedipus asks if this conspiracy was created by him or Creon. Creon addresses this by explaining that he did not create this conspiracy; why would he? He has the same power as Oedipus but without the stresses of the job.

Tiresias is told to leave the building, so he does.

Oedipus says that because Tiresias is blind, he does not have any power. Tiresias fires back, saying that Oedipus will soon be blind as well.

Tiresias says that Oedipus is the corruption of the land. Oedipus and appalled by this and asks how he could make up such a story.

Tiresias and Oedipus argue because Tiresias is not telling Oedipus what he knows.

Tiresias is escorted into the building.

Oedipus tells the people of Thebes that he curses the killer with a life filled with agony and pain.

Creon returns back from his trip to the Oracle and tells Oedipus that the killer of Laius must leave the land in order for the plague to stop.

The people gather at King Oedipus' feet and the Priest begs him for his help with the plague.

Oedipus sends Creon to the oracle of Delphi to discover what's causing the plague in Thebes and how he can help.

Queen Jocasta and King Laius order a shepherd to kill Oedipus because of the prophecy they were told (Oedipus would kill his father).
