    Norm's family was Japanese Americans and they were shocked and dissatisfied that Japan attacked by bombing the United States of America. Japanese Americans were also scared that they would

    be put in prison and separated from their family members, until the war ended. Japanese Americans were now treat with hate because they had the same ancestry with Japan and Japan's bombing had cost many American lives.

    America and Great Britain declared war on the Empire of Japan. The Americans where super angry that Japanese airplanes have bombed multiple ship and aircrafts. Norm's father was super frustrated that his home of his birth and the home of his love was having war.

    Japanese forces won victory after victory in the south Pacific, sinking American ships and downing aircrafts. Americans planned more attacks. The Japanese Americans lives including Norm's family were getting worse day by day. They were called names and treat even more badly.

    Most homes that belonged to Japanese American on the west coast of the United States of America were search by FBI agents. Most people that were found suspicious were put into internment camps for 3 to 4 years. Most people that were found suspicious didn't have a major purpose to be in jail.

    Norm's families move to Santa Anita
    Norm had his entire life in San Jose and now he is going to move to a different place in California that he didn't know. He and his family sold everything that they couldn't bring to the Internment Camp. Norm sold his childhood favorite items. His family went to Santa Anita to just settle in a room of an Barrack, behind barbed fences and armed soldiers. His family would have to wait in long lines for a little meal and for unclean bathrooms. This had changed Norm's childhood forever.

    Arriving at Heart Mountain
    After staying at Santa Anita for a year, Norm and his family was used to the harsh conditions in the barracks and the location of the different places. Now they had to moved once more. Norm's family sold most of their belongings and moved to Heart Mountain Internment Camp. Norm giving away his most important items he just owned was something hard to get pass. Then Norm's family traveled on train for three days and finally they reached their destination and met knew trouble to overcome.

    Overcoming the Challenge of Moving
    When Norm and his family moved to Heart Mountain Internment Camp, there was a public school that Norm was able to attend and so he did. Norm's family had to get use to the colder weather in Wyoming. Later Aya, Etsu, Helen, and his father was out of the internment camp to work because we were trusted not to be an enemy anymore. This means Norm has more responsibilities of chores. A hobby Norm likes is to play baseball with friends and to scout. One day he was scouting and met Alan.

    After almost 3 year, the war end after Japan surrendered. Norm's family came together after getting split up by different jobs. Together Norm's family pack their stuff and moved back to their home that was now abandoned. They all were relieved that their property haven't been destroyed. Norm kept up with his school career and everyone started over from scratch.

    Norm went back to school when he arrive back home at San Jose.
    He join in at San Jose High School and he tried very hard to get better grades. At San Jose High School, he made it to a basketball team. When he graduated from San Jose High School, he was happy that he worked hard and made it to a good college.

    After College
    He went to University of California for college. After he graduated he was able to go Japan to met his and help his relatives after the dropping of atomic bombs. Later he was drafted into the army and was stationed in Virginia. A little while later he was served as an intelligence officer in South Korea.

    Norm was elected as a congressman and he work with Alan. Norm made sure that people will never be put and locked in internment camps ever again.
