Chomsky enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania at only 16 years old. He was not a fan of it, and considered leaving after two years. He did not, because he met Zellig S. Harris, a famous linguist.

    Noam Chomsky's Teaching Career

Chomsky became a professor at MIT in 1955. The linguistics theory that he introduced during his time as a professor changed how linguistics were looked at. Basically, he said that we only see differences in language because of parameters we develop over time, which is why it is very easy for babies and small children to learn languages.
  • Noam Chomsky Now

Chomsky is a controversial political activist. He likes to critique the US Government and foreign policies. When the Vietnam War happened, that was when he started to become vocal about his disdain for the US government and how they sometimes like to enter wars for no good reason other than to be the 'tough guy'. He is still alive in 2021.
