  • Nick was born

    Nick was born in Brisbane, Queensland with tetra-amelia syndrome, which is a rare disorder which is the absence of all four limbs at birth.
  • Being bullied at school, Nick was depressed and was thinking about suicide.

    However did not go through because of the love he had for his parents.
  • Suicide thoughts and realisation

    Two years later, Nick tries to drown himself, and again cannot do it because he loves his parents too much to hurt them. After praying to grow arms and legs, he realised that his accomplishments could inspire others after his mum showed him a newspaper article about a man dealing with a severe disability.

    Nick learns to do daily tasks by himself.

    He learned to write using the two toes on his left foot with a special grip that slid onto his big toe. He learned to use a computer and type using the "heel and toe" method. He learned to throw tennis balls, play drum pedals, get himself a glass of water, comb his hair, brush his teeth, answer the phone and shave.
  • Elected Captain

    In year 7, Nick was elected the school captain and worked with the student council on fund-raising events for local charities and disability campaigns.
  • Talking out

    At the age of 17, nick started to give talks to his prayer group about optimism, treasuring life, global issues etc. Then he went on to giving talks to community groups, schools, clubs etc.
  • Graduated from Griffith University

    In 2003, Nick graduated from Griffith university.
  • Recognition

    In this year, Nick was nominated for the "Young Australian of the Year Award" which is awarded to those who give service to their local community and the nation, as well as their own personal accomplishments.
  • "Life Without Limbs" book was published

    On the 25th of March, Nick's first book, "Life Without Limbs" was published.
  • Short film actor

    In 2010, Nick appeared in his first short film called "The butterfly Circus."
  • Nick gets married

    In February 2012, Nick gets married to his fiance Kanae Miyahara.
  • Present day

    Present day, Nick is the director of his own non-profit organisation called Life without Limbs, he has spoken at many schools and expos talking and preaching about God, never giving up and always thinking good about yourself. He has spoken to over 3 million people so far in over 14 countries and is planning to do more. He currently lives in California He has publiseh his own book called Life Without Limbs: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life and his own DVD as well.
