    The Decleration of Independance was a long letter written to the King of England, demanding to give the colonies Independance of English monarchy.
  • Louisiana Purchace

    The Louisiana Purchace was a signed deal between France and the US, saying that the US then owned 828,000 miles west of the Mississippi River, adding up to about $15 million.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    The Civil War was about letting Slavery go, but also not letting the South cecede from the Union. It took about 4 years to get over with, and it took thousnads of lives. Pretty much, it was brother agenst brother, father agenst son, etc. The majority of the lives lost was because of bad medical care, becuase if you had to cut the leg off one soilder, you just moved on to the next one without disinfecting the medical tools.

    While the exact date of the Industrial Revolution is unkown to me, the years are known. From about 1840-1870, many new inventions were being made, like John Deere, he made a more efficent plow. And huge factories were starting- mass production.

    WWI was a huge war that was in Europe. It started in 1914 and ended in 1918. The Allied counteries were: Italy, France, Russia, and the UK. The Axis (bad guys) were: Germany, Ottoman Empire, Austeria-Hungary, and Bulgaria. WWI started when the archduke of Austeria-Hungary and his wife were shot by a Sereb man.
  • Great Depression

    The Great Depression hit when the stock market crashed on Wall Street. It Was even dubbed "Black Tuesday". It kicked investors in the fanny and also put people out of jobs and homes. For 10 years (1929-39), the depression had put indrusteries on hold. But, when America declared war in 1941, the indrusteries were back on trach, and there were jobs again.
  • Dust Bowl

    The Dust bowl started after an almost (almost) normal day in April. It was nicknamed Black Sunday, because of the huge clouds of loose topsoil. The farmers of the Great Plains had uprooted native prarie grasses that had held the soil together. The farmers then replanted with different foods (corn, wheat, etc).

    WWII was another huge war in Europe. The Allies: Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Yugoslavia, and the U.S. The Axis powers: Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria. WWII started when Germany was in its worst depression,.Germany was still fuming about WWI, and when a young new leader called Adolf Hitler arose and started blamig the Jews, and they followed him.

    The Cold War was a rivalry between the USSR and the US. It was about who could build the best weapons and how short of a timespan it took. It even extended to space. The USSR actually were the first to make it to space with SPOTNICK, but the US were the first to put men into space. Lasting untill 1991, the US and USSR made many new or iinproved weapons of war and destruction.

    September 11, 2001
    9/11 was a tragic day for America. It was the day that the World Trade centers were hit by suicide pilots from Osama Bin Ladin's group. The suicide pilots hijacked 4 planes in 4 to 5 people to a group, and flew the planes into the towers. In the aftermath, thouands were dead, and some were missing, not to be recovered. At the Pentagon, flight 77 struck. Over 100 people were killed. There was another hijacking, too. The plane was flipped upside-down at 500 mph. It crashed in a Prnnsylvania feild.

    The 3 largest earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused a huge Tsunami that struck South-East Asia and Japan. With over 270,000 deaths, it was one of the worst in the last 19 years.

    Hurricane Katrina ripped through New Orleans, Louisiana. The catigory 3 hurricane caused the New Orleans levees to be destroyed, leaving the city to the mercy of the storm. The hurricane caused about 1,800 deaths, and humongas amounts of damage.

    In the presidential elections of 2008, America got its first time ever, country-changing black president. Democratic Barack Obama won over Republican John McCain.
