Nathan Hale was born on June 6, 1755 in Coventry, Connecticut.

.Nathan Hale graduated from Yale University in 1773. He then learned that he loved school and wanted to teach.

Nathan hale graduated from Yale and then went on to be a school teacher at East Haddam.

In 1774 he left East Haddam and then went to the Union School. and got a position for master of the the Union School.

After working there for a year he left to join the military and He joined the Connecticut militia .

In 1775 he joined the Connecticut militia. This was the 11th Regiment of Militia was raised in October 1739 by the governor of the colony of Connecticut

In January of 1776, Nathan Hale was promoted to captain and also selected to lead Thomas Knowlton's “Rangers".

He volunteered on September 8, 1776 to become a spy for the U.S.A on the the British. This is where the start of his spy career starts.

On September 12 he crossed enemy lines and passed as a Dutch schoolteacher. This is when he starts to spy on the British.

He was caught trying to go back to American bases on September 21, 1776. This was the end of him of spying.

Before getting hanged he said “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country.”. No historical evidence of this but is believed that he did say this.
