Nathan Hale was born in Coventry, Connecticut.

Hale stps teaching in early July in order to join the militia. he would not go until his teaching contract expired. He now joined his five older brothers in the fight for independence.

Nathan Hale's friend from Yale writes him a letter telling him to activly participate in the militia. Hale becomes anctious to fight in the war after this letter. Nathan Hale soon becomes first lieutenant.

When Nathan Hale's regiment gets to Cambridge, his regiment gets moved to the left wing of General Washingtons army. This would be the first time that they might see combat. However Nathan Hale does not see combat here.

On theis day Nathan Hale's militia marches to Boston in order to fight the British there. This is soon after is regiment fought at Cambridge, Massachutes. Hale and his regiment get ready to set off for Boston.

Nathan Hale's regiment is moved again, but this time to the right wing. This was to help the Patriots take over Boston. Althugh they did nit see combat, yet again, this regiment helped drive the British troops out of Boston.

On september eighth 1776, General George Washington needed someone tto find out British plans for Manhattan. Nathan Hale, now Captain, decieded that he shall spy on the British. He gets the job to spy and gets ready to leave.

Nathan Hale finally departs for Manhattan. He takes a disguise of a Dutch teacher. This is the start of his journey of spying on the British for the Patriots.

Nathan Hale crosses enemy lines on this day. He is now in jepardy of being caught. From this point forward, if he i caug he will be executed.

HAle now done with his mission snds to be rescued. He sees a boat and makes it come near, but it is a British ship. These en find out that he is a spy and capture him so in order too hang him the next day.

Nathan Hale was executed by the British after the charged him of espionage. He was 21 and was not tried since both countries were in war. His last words were “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country” and almost immediatly afterward, he was hanged.
