Me as a toddler- USA
Like every little girl I loved to play, it was at the park were I began speaking my first words in English, but at home we spoke Spanish. I remember telling other kids "dont do that" when they were not behaving. -
Elementary School - Puerto Rico
We moved to Puerto Rico in time for me to begin the kindergarten. My English education started at school. I remember asking my mom for the meanings of unfamiliar words. -
Intermediate School - Puerto Rico
At this age I was speaking English with my cousins. I remember an eighth grade English teacher that taught us using a tape recorder for vocabulary words spelling and pronunciation. She was great!! -
High School - Puerto Rico - Domincan Republic
I studied my high school in two different schools and countries, after my mother lost her battle against cancer, We moved to the Dominican Republic. It was totally a different education, English was taught only in eleventh grade. I used to help a very young teacher give his class. I studied a french class daily for that year. -
Living and working - USA
I moved to Miami, I had the opportunity to polish and acquire more vocabulary in English. I started working for a tour and sightseeing company, because I could speak two languages. A big change in my life happened, I started working for a tour operator agency and became a travel agent and learned to speak Protuguese with my co-workers. It was a lot of fun. -
College years Interamerican University - Puerto Rico
Since I never had the opportunity when I was a young woman to go to college, God gave it to me after being married and with children. I decided to study Education in English as Second Language, because I was teaching my kids at home and I knew I could do it at school too. It was a wonderful experience to graduate and become a professional. -
English Teacher - Puerto Rico
I have been working as a teacher for six years now, five of them in bilingual programs and specialized languages schools and I believe our children can learn a second language with our expert
skills and love for what like to do, teach. -
