Junie B Jones books were truly a gift to me. My cousin gave me her collection and I became obsessed with them and finally enjoyed reading.

When I first learned about Harry Potter, I was very intimated. I saw a huge book with so many pages and did not think I would be able to stay focused for that long, but I wanted to be a part of the conversation with my friends and their fascination with the series. Once I started the books, I flew through them and finally gained the confidence to read longer novels.

The summer before I started high school was when I began to not enjoy reading. We had 6 books that we were required to read and I found them all to be more of a chore to read instead of enjoying them.

Our last book of the semester in Freshman english was "Catcher in the Rye". I loved the conversations that this book created between my peers and perspectives that I learned from the story, compared to how others interpreted it.

By the end of high school, I felt as if I was too busy to read. Between apply to colleges, playing varsity and travel team sports, working on the weekends, and trying to have a social life, I lost the time to relax and read.

When I started teaching in a preschool, I found that some children were not interested in books at all. I decided to purchase animal books with textures with the hopes that children would be drawn to them, just as I was when I was a child.

Just last year I went to a phonovisual training for Kindergarten teachers. I found this to be the most fascinating workshop and learned that I have pronouncing words incorrectly my entire life. It taught me that you can never stop reading and learning.

I am mortified that I did the "Timeline" for this assignment incorrectly and submitted it. I will definitely read all instructions carefully from now on so that mistake does not happen again.
