When I entered kindergarten, I enjoyed my teacher reading the Berenstain Bears books. Listening to my mother and teachers read to me was what motivated me to learn how to read. -
First grade
I was really motivated to reach my reading goals for the month, so I could get my Book It! rewards. I made sure I read at least 3 books a day. My favorite books at this grade were Clifford. -
Second-Fourth Grade
I went through a phase reading a variety of books that captured my attention. During fourth grade, I was chosen to be a reading tutor for other students in school. This is where my attitude towards reading became more important to me; I was enjoying teaching others learn how to read. -
Middle School
At school, we had the choice to read what we wanted. One of my favorite books was Frog and Toad are Friends. It's still one of my favorites and I now enjoy reading it to my kids. -
Junior High
Memories I have from these year's are from one of my teachers who loved to read aloud to the entire class. I remember it felt like she was bringing the characters to life. One of my favorite books I loved her reading was James and The Giant Peach. -
High School
Thinking about the reading I did in high school, I did not enjoy it that much. My English teacher would pick the books she wanted us to read and then have us write a report, most of those book to me was boring. I started to lose interest in reading. The books I had to read where "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Of Mice and Me", and "Hamlet" -
Reading materials that I read and enjoy.
I really enjoy reading Thrillers and Suspense books. A couple of my favorite authors are Stephen King and Johnn Grisham. I get really entertained reading their books. -
Teaching my children to read.
