Started kindergarten! Started learning more about letters and reading.

Read the first Harry Potter book

This is also when AR became a big deal around my school and teachers did everything they could to make us meet our goals.

Began reading more and more novels

I liked the book we read, "Count of Monte Cristo", but I'm not the biggest fan of writing

Started reading music

This was a whole new kind of reading and I loved it. It added a completely new level of skill and opened another door into learning about the world.

Started high school and started the more rigorous required readings

I don't really enjoy required readings because I would much rather read for my own enjoyment. I found some great books through required readings, I just don't like being made to read. Though I have read some really great books in class.

Started some teacher education classes

In my teaching classes I have learned a lot about teaching kids how to read and I am really excited to share my skill of reading with children and hopefully they will enjoy it just as much as I do.
