I began to learn how to read and how to spell.
-
I remember specifically doing spellings contests in third grade that helped me with my vocabulary and spelling.
-
Forth grade was the beginning of thorough book reports. This level of thinking helped me get more involved in my readings.

In 7th grade we were introduced to having a whole class on just reading and comprehension. This was not my favorite class in middle school, but it had to be done. I was never pushed to read as a child and plus I was better at math; so I always didn't like that class much.

I am not your average test taker, I tend to do really bad on tests. So for my test scores in middle school I was placed in average reading and english levels. I was in advanced honors classes for everything else. When I fought it by defending it with my skills and grades, I was then placed in honors english as well.

I graduated high school with as Advanced High Honors Diaploma. I hate that I don't have to much excitedment to add for reading in high school because it was not one of my favorite pass times. I was more inot math, engineering, and sports.

When I read now it is for college and my education classess. I like to read about education because it is my passion to help students succeed, especially at reading because it was something that was not pushed on me enough. I concentrate today on reading with my children as well. I want them to have fun with reading instead of dreading it as a kid like I did.
