  • Birth and Early Years

    Hello! My name is Juan Manuel Niño Piña. I was born in 2005 in Venezuela. During my childhood, i was pretty active yet quiet, as described by my parents. My favorite dish was pizza, I just loved the cheese and the spices
  • Kindergarten

    In 2009, when I was 3 years old, I started kindergarten. It lasted three years and then I started elementary school when I was 6. I was a very picky eater, always trying to avoid eating tomatoes, vegetables, etc.
  • Period: to

    Elementary to high school

    From 2012 to 2018 I studied elementary school, and made effort to be a good student. I was growing up, so i stopped picking so much on my food and even began to enjoy eating paprika, carrots and some broccoli
  • Moving countries

    In November of 2018, my family and I left Venezuela. We took a 20 hour trip to Santander, Colombia and moved to San Gil.

    6th Grade

    In 2019, I enrolled into School again to study 6th grade. I adapted and learned new stuff. I tried a lot of new food, like fritters, tamales, colombian arepa, and bandeja paisa
  • Pandemic

    in 2020, the global pandemic started and changed all of our lives. i didn't have school for at least 1 month and the only stuff i ate was my mom's cooking, arepas, empanadas, rice and pasta, apart from the usual cookie.

    Virtual classes

    Later in 2020, The rise of Zoom and google meet happened. During the next two years I had virtual school. It was challenging and a whole new experience to me

    High School

    In 2022, we finally returned to the school. I was 16 years old and i adapted to usual life once again. It was a relief being able to go out to eat pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers again
  • Graduation and Job

    In November 2023, I graduated from High School and turned 18. I got my first job ever and earned some money. I took my family to eat ice cream and to have some pasta bolognesa.
  • University

    In 2024, I went to university to study Software Engineering. It was a hard, full of surprises and new teachings, first semester as an adult. I was forced to learn how to cook breakfast. I learned how to make fried eggs and boiled eggs, and how to cook stuff in a pan.
