The first time that I remember being read to was when I was four years old. My mom would read the story, "Clifford The Big Red Dog," to me before bedtime. I remember listening, smiling, and looking at all of the pictures with her.

Hearing my parents read me and my siblings bedtime stories really sparked my interest in books

A few months before I started kindergarten, my parents bought me my very own book. It was called "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish," by Dr. Seuss. They would read it to me all the time. At this point, I remember trying to read it to myself but now that I think back on it, I was really just memorizing it and pretending to be able to read.

When I started kindergarten, I began learning how to read picture books.

Although some of my elementary school was a bit of a blur, I remember my second grade teacher who loved to read. She would read to us everyday in our free time and this is when my love for reading began.

Something that stuck out to me from elementary school was reading books as a class. Our teachers would read to us and it was always so much fun

Throughout elementary school, Dr. Seuss books were my favorite. I would read them in my free time.

In 3rd grade we would play this came called "Popcorn Reading," where we would take turns as a class reading one paragraph at a time and then calling on someone else.

In fourth grade, I had the opportunity to read a story once a week to the kindergarteners. I really enjoyed it and looked forward to it every week.

When I was in fifth grade, I really dreaded reading. It seemed like it was all we did in class and I got bored of it.

Reading a book and then watching a movie began to be one of my favorite things to do. I found love for this in seventh grade when we read the book called "The Outsiders," by S.E Hinton and then followed up with a movie.

Starting in fifth grade, we would go to the library once every few weeks. I began to read to "I Survived," series by Lauren Tarshis. I really enjoyed these books.

In middle school, we would do a lot of reading comprehension where we would read a chapter of a book and have to answer questions. I really disliked this and felt like it took away my interest in reading because I felt forced.

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid," by Jeff Kinney was one of my favorite series in middle school.

I came across my first favorite book when I was in sixth grade. It was called "Holes," by Lewis Sinclair.

"Where the Red Fern Grows," by Wilson Rawls was a book that I read on my own in seventh grade that I really enjoyed.

I vividly remember being in 8th grade and reading "Romeo and Juliet," by William Shakesphere. For some reason, this book was very confusing to me so I pretended to understand what was going on.

When I was a freshman in highschool, I came across the book "To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee. This is my favorite book to this day. The movie is amazing as well.

In my senior year of high school, I completely quit reading. I lost interest and felt like I never had time for it between working and playing sports.

Right now, I am reading off and on in my free time. I am currently re-reading "Where the Red Fern Grows," by Wilson Rawls because I really enjoy it.
