invasion of iraq
In 2003, 2 years after the attack on the WTC, President Bush decided to declare war on Iraq. We invaded Iraq and took over their country. I dont remember much of when this happened because I was 8 years old. I didnt even know what war was at the time. -

On July 15th, 2006 twitter was launched. Twitter is a socialmedia website/app that users can log on to and blog whatever they please. in 2006 i was 11 years old and still had no intrest in social networks.However in 2012 i joined twitter and i currently use it today. After beating John McCain in the presidential elections, Obama was innagurated on Jan 20 in front of a massive crowd in washington dc. when this happened i was in my 8th grade science class. our teacher let us watch the innaguration as it happened. Obama became the first african-american president of America. -

oil spill at gulf of mexico
In the gulf of mexico a massive oil spill occurred. For 3 months the oil kept coming out of the pipes. When this happened my family had planned a trip to Florida but we had to cancel it because of the fact that the Gulf of Mexico was contaminated from the spill. -
USA Ties England in the FIFA World Cup
South Africa 2010. the biggest sports event in the world took place. On the second day of group stages, USA was scheduled to play England. USA ended up tying england 1-1. I saw this game live on television and felt a massive sense of pride to know that my country was doing good in the World Cup. I also was happy to see that our ancestor country couldnt beat us. -
Binladen Dies
After 10 years of chasing the man that killed thousands by attacking the WTC, US Navy Seals killed Osama in a firefight, durring a raid on his compound. When I saw President Obama come on tv and annouce to the country that the sickminded man had been killed i was very happy to see that we finally got revenge. -
Hurricane Irene
Hurricane Irene is a bad memory for me. My house has flooded a couple times before and we fixed up the damages quickly. But after Irene struck my house was destroyed. My basement was gome and my 1st floor was halfway filled with water. My family basically rebuilt that house and it still stands to this day. -
