He was12 years old and he is at the Alton Jones Wilderness Center. It was an advanced climbing trip, so he was a lot younger than the others. Once he started climbimg, he didn't want to stop.

He was at the RI Rock Gym when he met Geoff Tabin. He was too young to climb there but he got away with it. Geoff still helped Mark even though he was very young.Geoff taught him a lot like ice climbing and getting sponsers to help pay for the trip.

Mark's aunt's music teacher, Francis Madeira, takes him to his first mountain because he has never seen one before. He takes him to Mt Crawford. That inspires mark to climb many more mountains after this trip.

Mark gets permission from his parents to go to Nepal. as long as he could get the money. He wrote 100 letters for sponsers to pay for his trip.

He gets leter back from sponsers to climb, and he raises over $4,000! Now he can go to Nepal!

Mark gets enough money to go to Nepal, and then he climbs a frozen waterfall at Lake Placid in New York so he can learn to ice climb before Nepal.

He is ice cimbing for the first time to prepare for Nepal at Lake Placid, New York. He is climbing up a frozen waterfall.

He is on his way to Nepal , and he meets his trek leader, Alan Burgess.

He gets to Nepal and sees Mt Everest. The city, Kathmandu, is very different than he expected.

They set up their base camp for the 2 peaks they are cimbing, Nya Kanga and Yala Peak. Nya Kanga is about 19,000 feet high and Yala Peak is a little bit lower.

Mark Says his goodbyes to Al When they finished climbing the peaks.

He goes to a school to learn about outdoor survival, and schools name is National Outoor Leadership School(NOLS). Here he make friends with the same intrests and learns to lead others while climbing.

He goes to Peru to climb a glacier to prepare for Everest.

Mark meets Butthead aka John, and he is being self-centered , rude and he was talking bad about someone who died on the glacier.

He summits the mountain Huascaran which is located in Peru.He was the youngest to make it to the top.

To prepare for Mt Everest, Mark runs the hospital stairs up and down. He works out many times to keep in shape. He works with his trainer, Nel Poisson.

He goes to Ecuador to climb the third worlds highest active volcano, Cotopaxi.

He goes to Illiniaza to climb in Peru, wich is 17,394 feet high. It is not very high but it is very challenging.

He fails to complete Illiniza beacuse of the weather and headaches.

He is getting tested by Thor with many of kids to see who is ready for Mt Everest.

Mark climbs the highest mountain in the western hemisphere, Aconcagua.

They reach the top of Aconcagua, and they hike down to base camp the same day.

Mark is on TV, and people are making rumors about him.

They are on their way to Mt Everest!

They make it to Base Camp of Mt Everest. There was garbage from other climbers whop had been there.

Mark starts climbing Mt Everest, and they want to make it to the second base camp.

Mark is going to camp one fpr the fifth time, and most climbers only do three. He is coughing so much that he broke his rib, and he can't climb Everest anymore on this trip.

Reporters come and ask Mark about his broken rib, and mark tells them that he broke it at 26,000 feet, which was a lie because he broke it at 25,000 feet.

Mark and his mom are at the Ama Dablam Base Camp. Marks rib is healed.
