My Erikson Timeline

    Lily 4th month
    Lily is four months old now and it is now time for her to eat solid food. She has trust in her parents to give her the proper nutrition so she can grow up to be strong and healthy. This is Erikson's first stage, trust vs mistrust, determines if the child chooses establish trust into their primary caregiver, usually the parents. If they choose not to trust the primary caregiver they will most likely live on in hesitation of anything presented to them by the caregiver (mistrust).
  • Lily's Days in Middle School

    Lily's Days in Middle School
    Lily is now 13 years old and is adjusting to this new surrounding of judgement. Lily is trying to fit in with the any clique in the school, but is having a hard time. She cannot figure out who she wants to be and has a hard time accepting herself. This is Erikson's fifth stage of development, identity vs identity confusion, crisis where you figure out who you are and accept yourself (identity) or not have a firm grasp as to who you are and always changing (identity confusion).

    Today, Lily is learning how to be a good mother. She hopes to raise her son Dave to be strong, smart, and an good member of society. Lily wants her morals and ideals to live on through him. This event displays Erikson's 7th crisis generativity versus stagnation. Generativity is when an older individual looks out for the younger generation so they can leave leave their mark on the earth. Stagnation is where you focus on yourself and not worry about the younger generation.
