After the French and Indian War he had large debts to pay and thought he could extract the necessary money from the colonies. He made taxes, particularly the Stamp Act. When the Stamp Act was repealed, King George flew into a rage. And thought that the colonies should be punished for their disobedience to Britian.Using his power he pushed threw the Townshed acts in 1766, taxing many commodity items.

    The British Soldiers were sent to destroy the military supplies colonists had collected at Concord. The minutemen in the towns and villages along the way where told where the British were. When the British reached Lexington around 70 armed minute men were waiting there for them. The colonists were ordered to lower their weapons, but then someone fired a shot and the British charged. 8 killed, 10 wounded. The British pushed onto Concord and burned the remaining gun powder colonist hadn't used.

    Second Continental Congress met in Philidelphia. The congress became a central government and took steps to conduct the was that had started in at Lexington. Congress had a vote to ask the colonies for supplies and troops. The American Revolution had begun.

He was an illegitimate uncle of King George the Third, who was the British king during the Revolutionary War. When he first came to the colonies which was on May 25th 1775 he led the British troops in attacking Breed's hill. The battle became known as The Battle of Bunker Hill. He led his troops well and overtook and captured the hill.

The battle was at the time considered to be an American defeat but has since been lifted to the ranks of a heroic stands against forces of oppression.

    Battle of Princeton!A British force attacked Washingtons 1,500 soldiers after the battle of Trenton with their 8,000 soldiers led by General Charles Cornwallis. Washintons men pretended to be trapped but tricked the British and slipped away and surprised the British force at Princeton. Then he escaped to the highlands of New Jersey out of Cornwallis's reach. This saved the American Cause.

He was a spy for the British and in return got money.

He was a good general bu was unable to defeat the American and french forces, this leading to his biggest loss. In 1780 he was responcible for the British campaign in the South. And in 1781 he was in Yorktown waiting for other soldiers, but the French and American were already ready to attack. Cornering the British and forcing Cornwallis to surrender!

French and American Troops marched into Yorktown. Fought until Britian surrendered!The Battle of Yorktown is recognized as one of the most skillful military actions in history.
