    The idea of Synthetic Cells was thought of way back in 1839. The actual use of them didn't start happening until recently. The founders of synthetic cells are Matthias Jakob Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. Synthetic cells are artificial cells that are put in humans to mimic the function of the cells lost.Synthetic cells are mainly used to fight cancer currently.

    Gene Editing
    Gene editing was discovered in the 1950's, but wasn't actually used until 1972. An Austrian Monk known as Gregor Mender is responsible for the discovery of gene editing. Gene editing is when a doctor takes a set of genes and edits/ or changes them for the better. Gene editing is used today to help treat diseases and come up with diagnosis.

    Laser surgery was discovered by Dr. Theodore Maiman in 1960. Laser surgery was not actually used until around the 1980's. Laser surgery uses laser light to remove diseased tissues and treat bleeding blood vessels. Laser surgery is also used to restore skin, reduce wrinkles, sunspots, tattoos, and birthmarks. Today laser surgery is mainly used on the eye to correct near and far sightedness.

    Anti smoking laws were introduced way before the 21st century, but weren't actually used until 2000's. Nepal made it so that smoking couldn’t be done in public places and Venezuela made it so that smoking couldn’t be done in enclosed places. Anti Smoking laws reduced the exposure of cigarettes to younger people.

    The Human Genome Project ( HGP) was a long process, but was successfully completed in 2003. Alfred Sturtevant, Francis Crick, and James Watson are the founders of the HGP. The HGP mapped out all the cells that make up the human body. Treatments no longer have to be done by trial and error, and people can get more personalized care. The HGP uses information from DNA to develop new ways to treat, cure, and prevent genetic diseases.

    The seizure stopper was first introduced in the 19th century. Seizure stoppers were not actually used until 2004. Hayman invented them. Seizure stoppers are an add on treatment; which means it is used in addition to seizure meds. Seizure stoppers are used a lot today. Doctors are able to give seizure stoppers as soon as a patient comes in with the symptoms or after the first occurrence.

    23andMe was first used in 2006. It was discovered by Anne Wojcicki, Linda Avey, and Paul Cusenza. 23andMe is a PGS test that uses genotyping to discover genetic health risks and see what a person is a carrier for. 23andMe is still a popular thing used by many people today. You can buy the kit, spit, and find out anything you wanna know about your genetic history.

    The thought of telehealth was brought up way back by Alexander Graham Bell. Telehealth didn't actually start happening until 2015. Telehealth is another way of a virtual Dr. visit. Most people would rather have a physician come to them, and it has finally started to happen. This helps today in healthcare because doctors can get done what they have to at the clinic and when they finish, they can jump straight in the virtual visits.

    Morton Heilig discovered augmented Dr. visits. Augmented Dr. visits are basically virtual. People can use their phones type their symptoms, explain their problems, and a Dr. will reply and try to help them. Drs. are available 24/7 at peoples fingertips.
