    Dredd Scott Decision
    Dred Scott was a black slave from the south. Dred Scott escaped up north where black people were "free people." He lived up north for a while and came back to Missouri. When he came back Missouri was also a "free" state for black people to live. However Scott sued becasue he had lived on free territory for a long period of time.

    Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865. He was the 16th President of the United States of America. John Wilkes Booth shot President Lincoln during the play "Our American Cousin" in Ford's Theatre.

  • Brown vs BOE

    Brown vs BOE
    This event took place in Topeka, Kansas. An african american third grader, Linda Brown. Had to go to the "black elementary" school that was extremely far from her house instead of going to the "white elementary" school that is only 7 blocks away. Linda's father tried enrolling her to attend the "white elementary" school but she wasn't accepted. This is what began the major law suit that is recognized today as the Brown vs BOE.
  • Gideon v. Wainwright

    Gideon v. Wainwright
    Gideon was accused for breaking into a bar in Florida. At the trial Gideon couldn't afford a lawyer and he asked the judge to appoint him one. The judge refused and said Gideon would have to defend himself. Gideon learned that his 6th ammendment right was violated. Therefore knowing his right was violated he took the case to court.

    The Watergate Affair was a political scandal at the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate office in Washington, D.C. The Nixon administration were the ones responsible for the break in. Multiple people were charged for being apart of this break in.

    Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Represenatives on two charges. One of purgery and the other was obstruction of justice. He didnt end up getting impeached because not enough people voted for him getting impeached.
