The German navy sunk the American ship Lusitania which was on a journey from New York to England with citizens and ammunition. This increase tensions between America and the central powers but the US remain out of the war.

The evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force *BEF) and other Allied troops from the French seaport of Dunkirk to England.
