My mom would sing "Silent Night" to me everynight before bed to help me go to sleep. She did this for a couple years.

My parents would take turns reading to me everynight and sometimes they would choose a different book. This helped me go to bed. They actually did this for a few years until I could read.

My parents would take turns reading Goodnight Moon to me everynight/week. This was one of my favorite books as a child; i still like it.

My parents started reading Dr. Seuss books to me - like one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, and even cat in the hat. Those were some of my favorite books in elementary. Later on, I was able to read them myself.

My mom would not only read to me but to herself before bed.

I would echo read to my mom. I would repeat what she said. Then she would read a page then I would read that exact page. This is how she taught me how to read.

My father loved to read. He would read books, magazines and newspapers - I remember him reading the newspaper every morning before he would go to work.
