Mississippi Trial 1955

  • Hiram starts living in Missisippi with his grandfather

    Since Hiram is so little he doesn't mind living with his grandpa and he likes spending time with him.
  • Hiram meets Niaomi

    They both like each other right off the bat and become friends.
  • Hiram is with his grandpa for his meetings

    Hirams grandpa tells him that he has important buisness to attend to so he gives Hiram money to go down to the candy shop and get a treat.
  • Hiram goes to the fields with his grandpa

    Hiram wants to help some of the worker but grandpa scolds him and tells him that they were made to be working the fields.
  • Hiram has to move back with his parents

    Hiram is sad because he loves his grandpa and wants to live with him and not his regular parents. Also he will miss Naomi
  • Hiram and his Father have a talk

    Hiram doesn't want to listen to his father because he misses his grandpa and wants to go see him again.
  • (Another) Letter comes from Grandpa

    Granpa sends a letter saying that he needs help on the farm and that he is lonely. Hiram's mom finally convinces the father to let Hiram go see his father.
  • Hiram is leaving for Mississippi

  • Hiram and RC go fishing

    After they fish for a little while they take a nap. Hiram wakes up first and notices Emmit and his friends are swimming a little ways up the creek. He wants them to leave because RC is very racist but Emmit sees him and starts walking over. At that time RC wakes up and sees that Hiram is giving them some food. RC gets mad and cuts open one of the fish that they caught and shoved it into Emmits mouth.
  • Hiram Meets Emmett

    When Hiram meets Emmit he thinks that Emmit is a pretty nice kid.
  • Hiram Meets Niaomi on the Bridge

    Hiram is feeling bad about what happened to Emmit so goes down to the bridge. He notices Niaomi on the bridge and they start talking and catching up.

    The trail lasted a total of three days in which the defendants were not guilty of commiting murder. Hiram and his grandfather are about to leave then the defendant gives grandpa a thumbs up.
