In 2004 was presented for the first time in Rome, Italy, a documentary on the life and poetry of Mario Benedetti, titled "Mario Benedetti and other surprises." The film, written and directed by Alessandra Mosca, and starring Benedetti, was sponsored by the Embassy of Uruguay in Italy.
