    Black Death

    The Black Death killed many people in Europe and people who came down with symptoms from the plague were separated from the family or outcasted by the family to avoid getting sick. Some members of the family had to take over other roles of other members of the family because their loved one was sick or had died.
  • San Francisco Earthquake

    The San Francisco earthquake of 1906 killed over 3000 people including children. This separated many families.
  • World War II

    Jews were separated in concentration camps and most of the families were not put together. Families lost touch and died
  • 9/11

    Parents that went of to work on September 11th, 2001 and did not return had children that were left behind that could have ended up in foster care after their death or had to live with other members of the family.
