Iraq invaded Kuwait. United States stepped in because Kuwait is a major supplier of oil to us. Told Iraq to get out of Kuwait by January !5. Nothing happened so United States attacked and drove Iraq out. -
Rodney King
After a high speed chase in LA, 4 officers were caught on video beating an innocent black man. Rodney King was tased 2 times and beaten with batons. The media got hold of the video and it aired everywhere. The African American community was outraged and started rioting which caused 50 dead 4,000 injured and 1 billion dollars in damage. -
David Koresh
David Koresh was a cult leader. Cult was called Branch Davidisons. United States saw him as a threat and told him to stop what he was doing. He didnt and they took there cult under seige. They lit their houses on fire and he and his followers were killed. Very controversial. -
Oklahoma City Bombing
In Oklahoma City a Ryder truck was parked next to the World Trade Center. At 9:00 A.M the Ryder truck exploded killing 168 people and injuring over 500 people. People that committed this terroristic act was Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. Timothy McVeigh was sentenced to death while Terry Nichols was sentenced to life in prison. -
Bombing at Centennial Olympic Park
During the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia, a pipe bomb was discovered outside the stadium by a security guard. The security guard called police and evacuated the area. Happened during a free concert. Bomb went off and killed 1 person but injured 111 people. No one was arrested. -
Columbine Shooting
In Littleton Colorado 2 seniors Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris started shooting in there school. Targetted athletes but mainly everyone except a select few. Set bombs in the cafeteria but they didn't go off. They killed 12 students and 1 teacher. They committed suicide after.
