That's right! During my sophomore year in high school, I learned to typed on a manual typewriter.

Electric Typewriter - The IMB Wheelwriter
Working as a secretary for a security agency, I thought I had died and gone to heaven while typing on this (in comparison to the manual typewriter that I had learned on).
  • First Computer

    First Computer
While studying at Kent State University, the first computer I used in several classes looked something like this.
  • Brother Word Processor

    Brother Word Processor
I used this to create spreadsheets, fliers and correspondence for a business that my family and I owned.
  • First Cell Phone

    First Cell Phone
During my time as a business owner, this was our first cell phone in order to stay in touch while out in the field.
  • Car Phone

    Car Phone
This was a phone that stayed in my car and plugged into the cigarette lighter in case I broke down or needed to call home.
  • First Home PC

    First Home PC
My first home PC was an ACER, much like the one pictured here. I was amazed at the differences in graphics from those I had used in college.
  • "Updated" Cell Phone

    "Updated" Cell Phone
At this point my daughter was turning 14 and wanted a cell phone of her own. All three members of the family got a new phone like the ones pictured here. But to be honest, I hardly ever used mine!
  • Flip Phone

    Flip Phone
This was the phone that I learned to text on. It took me quite some time to get the hang of it!
  • Slide Phone

    Slide Phone
I was dragged kicking and screaming by my nieces to the mall for an update to my flip phone (which I had really become attached to) and came home with this.
  • Smartphone

    Smartphone
When I began school at NSC I joined the 21st century and invested in my first smartphone.
  • Laptop

    Laptop
When I became a student again, this made more sense than the dated PC I had in my home office.
