Shays Rebellion
Country farmers rebelled taxes they had to pay in order to pay back the wealthy people. This was led by Daniel Shays. -
The Cumberland Gap
Daniel Boone was the person who tried to make the Cumberland Gap. Which he did. -
Louisiana Purchase
In this event President Jefferson bought land from france. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States. -
Lewis and Clark Expidition
With the Corps of Discovery they set out on an expidition. They traveled by boat up the Missousi River. In that time they gathered plants and drew maps. -
Pikes Peak expidition
Captain Pike led an expidition to explore the south western area of the Louisiana Purchase. Pike recalls he saw a "Blue Mountain". Which Today is now called Pikes Peak. -
The War of 1812
The British and Americans started a war because the British blockaded American ports. This event went from 1812 to 1814. -
Indian Removal Act
President Jackson signed a law called the "Indian Removal Act". This forced tribes to leave their land and move to a territory called the "Indian Territory". Then more settlers moved into the indians old land. -
Trail of tears
When some of the indians didn't move to the "Indian Territory" the American troups forced them out. Those indians walked the trail of tears. -
The Mexican and American War
This started when President Polk sent soldiers over the Mexican border. Then they declared war. It lasted for about a year then the mexican troups were defeated. -
The California Gold Rush Began
Gold was found by James W. Marshal. Later word spread about gold and more than 300,000 people came looking for this gold. This event became the california gold rush. -
California Gold Rush Ended
Finally, after months and months of looking for gold the califonia gold rush ended.
