The first book that I remember
The Giving Tree is the first book that I remember having read to me when I was little. We would read it at my Grandmother's house. -
My favorite book to read
Sarah's Unicorn was one of the first books that I remember being able to read by myself. I still own a copy and read it to the children in my class. -
The Last Unicorn
I loved both this book and movie when I was in my preteen years and is still one of my favorites. I have several autographed copies of both the book and the movie. -
To Kill A Mockingbird
This was the first book that I was ever required to read for class. I remember not liking it because the people in it seemed very mean. At the time, I did not understand the impact of the book. -
The Jungle
This was a book that was required reading when I was in high school. It very much made an impact on me and made me very grateful for the creation of the USDA. -
Les Miserables
My uncle took me to see the musical and I loved it so much that I decided to read the book. Little did I know what I was getting into. Aside from textbooks it is by far one of the longest books that I have ever read. -
The Handmaid's Tale
This was another book that was required reading when I was in school. I remember being very upset about it, with details from it still sticking with me today. Like the saving of the butter from her meals to use as lotion. I haven't seen the new mini series but hope to see it soon. -
Harry Potter
I was introduced to Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone and read the entire series. At the time, I was worried that I would be one of the only adults reading it. But after visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter 2 summers ago, I think more adults love the series than children. -
Meeting Peter S. Beagle
Peter S. Beagle is the author of The Last Unicorn and the screenwriter for the movie as well. I drove to the middle of no where in the mountains of Virginia to meet him and hear him do a reading. -
Jim Butcher
Jim Butcher is currently my favorite author. I absolutely love his Dresden Files series, and like always, the books are better than the show.
