Winnie's family owns the Treegap woods. She has been raised with a lot of disipline. Winnie Foster is not alowed to go outside of the gate in her front yard, and her only friend is a toad she talks to every day. -
Tucks
Winnie wonders into her familys woods. She finds a boy there, and his name is Jesse Tuck. He is drinking from a stream and Winnie wants to drink from the same stream.Mae Tuck, Jesse's mom comes and takes Winnie away because she wants to tell Winnie about the stream. -
Living forever?
Mae takes Winnie half way to Jesse's house, but someone is following them. They stop and Mae explians that the stream is magical and whoever drinks it lives forever. -
stolen horse
In the morning Tuck the father of Jesse takes Winnie fishing. While they are fishing the family horse gets stolen by the strange man. She also figures out that the music she heard before came from Mae. -
The strange man
The strange man reports that Winnie is missing and the police and him ride to the Tucks house. The man goes ahead of the police and gets talks to the Tucks about living forever. He wants to sell the magic water. He asks them if they want to help him. They say no. -
Tucks and Winnie
Winnie starts to really like the Tucks, but she still can't decided weather they are her friends or her kignappers. -
The rest
The end of the book is really interesting. The strange man revealse himself and Mae gets out of a lot of trouble. Natalie Babitt is a fabulous wiriter and I highly recamend this book.
