    Potential Life on Enceladus
    Scientists had a rover land on the planet Saturn. Research shows that one of Saturn’s moons called Enceladus has traces of oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and nitrogen. With these chemicals, scientists believe that plants can grow on this moon. There will be further investigation of Enceladus in 2025.

    Again scientists had a rover land on the planet Saturn. From the information the rover provided, scientists discovered that one of Saturn’s moons called Titan has an atmosphere. Scientists believe that since Titan is the only moon with an atmosphere that there is a possibility of life on this moon. Astronauts believe that other planets have atmospheres, but this is the first moon with a scientific atmosphere.

    Discovering Tardigrades/Water Bears
    While the International Space Station (ISS) was passing over Asia, scientists living on the ISS were actively researching the climate outside of the station. While running assessments they found microscopic insects. These insects are called Tardigrades and are more commonly called Water Bears. Water Bears are known to be able to survive any type of climate. They connect themselves to floating debris and curl themselves into a ball until they touch water.

    While a rover was examining Jupiter’s moon Europa, scientists found a liquid ocean beneath the icy layer. Europa’s core can potentially be warming the water and may be able to generate electricity. Scientists also have detected bits of oxygen around Europa. This moon is the most likely moon to have life on it.

    While scientists were researching the birth of the universe, they began wondering if there are any more planets that are earth like. Their research found that there are 40 billion planets just like Earth. Twenty-five percent of those planets could possibly have life on it. Each planet could be a different size, shape, mass, or could even be in a different galaxy.

    While scientists were studying dwarf planets, they discovered a planet called “Ceres”. This planet is not only the smallest planet, but it is the closest dwarf planet to Earth. Ceres has a water thin atmosphere. There are also lakes among the surface of the planet which creates an environment for possible life forms.

    While scientists were researching the universe, they found out that there are hundreds of different galaxies. There is a possibility that 10% of those galaxies could sustain life. Scientists are still researching this theory further.

    You might have heard that Pluto is now considered a rogue planet because it has no gravitational pull. Scientists are continually researching Pluto and have found traces of water on the surface of the planet. Pluto also has an atmosphere that contains carbon dioxide and hydrogen.

    Astronauts visiting the moon have found plant like shoots popping up all over the surface of the moon. These plant-like objects were taken back to Earth to research them further. Unfortunately, these objects immediately died when they were taken out of their environment. Scientists still don’t know what these are but are planning to research them further.

    In 2025 scientists will be sending up a robotic spacecraft to Jupiter to not only research Jupiter but to research all its moons. This project will hopefully determine if Jupiter or its moons will be able to host any type of living being.

We haven't discovered much proof of other life forms yet, but scientists are always looking for signs of life in our galaxy.
